About: Hirata Hiroaki is a famous Japanese seiyuu (voice actor) who has voiced numerous characters from a variety of anime series. In addition, he has lent his voice in many drama CDs and sung several songs for some of these anime series. On an interesting, non-anime-related side note, he is the voice behind Captain Jack Sparrow in the Japanese dub of the famous Pirates of the Carribean movie as well as the voice of Joey Tribbiani in the Japanese dub of the popular American show Friends, amongst many other roles.

Kenren - Anime Version

Kenren Taishou: Of course, Hiroaki is the brilliant seiyuu behind Kenren in the Saiyuki anime series and he performs his role perfectly - the lovely intonations he gives Kenren's voice really captures his attitude/manner of speech and adds definite character to his tone. Unforunately, there isn't an animated version of Saiyuki Gaiden (yet - fans are wishing!), but a portion of Saiyuki Gaiden was animated in Episodes 40 and 41 of Gensomaden Saiyuki.

Gojyo - Anime Version

Sha Gojyo: Hiroaki is also the seiyuu behind Gojyo, the reincarnation of Kenren and one of the 4 main characters in the Saiyuki anime series (Gensomaden, Reload, Gunlock, and Burial). He is incredibly well-suited for this role and bring about many emotions as well as a certain sexiness in Gojyo's voice. In addition, he also voices Gojyo in various Saiyuki Drama CDs.

Other Anime Roles: As mentioned above, Hiroaki is the voice behind many anime characters - here is a brief list of his other famous roles outside of Saiyuki:
